Who We Are
Our Mission
Operation Healthy Hearts (OHH) is a grassroots mutual aid organization based in Hacienda Heights and serving the East San Gabriel Valley. Founded by Jacqueline Villalta in 2012, OHH emerged from lived experience with homelessness and the deep desire to build a compassionate, community-led safety net for those falling through the cracks. We are a collective of advocates, neighbors, and volunteers committed to meeting people where they are—with dignity, nourishment, and tangible support.
We believe everyone deserves access to nutrient-dense food, essential resources, and a network of care—no matter their housing status or income level.

Our mission is to create greater access to healthy food, vital services, and community-powered support through mutual aid, advocacy, and resource coordination. We do this by:
-
Organizing weekly pop-up food banks that distribute groceries as fully planned, nutrient-rich meals
-
Hosting collaborative resource fairs that bring public health, housing navigation, and social services directly to the people
-
Providing safe spaces and building community with and for our unhoused neighbors
-
Advocating for sustainable systems rooted in compassion, equity, and lived experience
At OHH, we don’t just hand out resources—we build relationships. We believe healing, justice, and empowerment happen when community members care for one another, stand together, and reimagine what’s possible.
